Us/One Day begins with a gentle, melancholy waltz—filled with emotions of sweetness and longing. As the piece unfolds, it grows more hopeful and energetic, eventually rushing into a fast, unexpected ending. It’s a reflection of friendship, distance, and the joy of reunion.

Composer’s Note:

This is my second solo composition written for a 4.3-octave marimba. Aimed at intermediate-level players, the piece explores voicing, maintaining fluidity between leaps and melodic lines, rolling on chords, and the evenness of independent strokes. It encourages expressive phrasing and technical refinement, while offering musical depth for developing marimbists.
